Q & A

Hard Charge was my first OCR race. Coming from a running background I was looking for a little variety and I happened to stumble upon this race which was really close to my home. I thought it would be fun...turned out I won it! It was also televised so it was really cool being able to watch myself on TV for the first time!

Traveling around the country seeing different venues and meeting more amazing athletes.

Dolomiti, Italy looks like a fun and beautiful course. I would love to run there.

I use to be in a collegiate Circus called Gamma Phi back when I attended Illinois State University. I never envisioned myself doing that but I managed to make the team and perform in 2 different acts: Wall Trampoline & Tumbling and Vaulting. That was seriously one of the best things I got to be a part of!!

Probably trying out for American Ninja Warrior or Cirque Du Solei 😉

LOTS OF HILLS! I would also prefer very technical terrain...just to mix things up a bit.

I love working my grip strength through bouldering. It's fun, low impact, and can help develop a strong upper body especially for runners with poor form/technique.

Foam roll, hottub, naps. Usually though lots of active recovery such as simply going for a walk or hiking.

Expect the unexpected. There are a ton of variables in these races to consider so don't expect everything to go as planned. Who knows you might find weaknesses or strengths you never thought you had.
