Jon grew up in New Haven, Connecticut and has been a lifelong New Englander. Currently living in Greenwich, CT with his wife and two children, Jon is an elementary school principal who relishes his time working with children.
Jon has always been a competitor, playing football and lacrosse through college and continually seeking the next challenge. Thankfully, OCR has opened the door to numerous challenges, which Jon has approached head-on with determination, grit, and a commitment to being the best possible version of himself.
The alarm clock goes off between 3:30am-4:30am everyday for Jon, and early morning grinds have become the norm. Yancy Camp workouts make up Jon's primary training and, along with the daily WODs, Jon is also determined to stay in the Top 10 of the year-long, Yancy Camp Elevation Challenge. This challenge asks competitors to average at least 1,000ft of vertical gain each day, with a goal of hitting 365,000ft by year's end. Jon is currently averaging 3,600+ft per day...a pace that will put him at the year's-end goal by mid-April.
As for racing, 2018 was a solid year for Jon with some strong, Top 10 Age group finishes as well as making a last-minute (3 days before!) decision to take on and complete the Spartan Killington Ultra...a challenge he won't soon forget! Jon qualified for the OCR World Championships, the NORAMs, and the Spartan Ultra World Championship. Looking to the 2019 season, and as a member of the Altra Red Team, Jon is shifting focus to the short and mid-distance races and has his sights set on the Age Group podium.
