Podcast by Joel Zanicky where he interviews OCR racers from all walks of life. In my episode, he talked with me and my dad about racing together and sharing podiums.
My first OCR race was the Spartan Tuxedo Sprint in 2016. I was 12 years old, it was my first real taste of obstacle course racing and I've been hooked ever since.
The thought of being the best I can ever be makes me want to compete. I compete to show it is possible to for anyone to say "I can" instead of "I can't", and to inspire the people around me to become the best version of themselves that is possible.
Stratton, Vermont at the OCR NorAm Championships. I've done normal obstacle course races like the Spartan Races, I've also done 5k races, but the NorAm's have such a variety of different obstacles. I would really like to experience it myself to understand what my dad did and how different it is.
At the age of 12 I did my first Spartan Sprint at Tuxedo NY in 2016. My dad thought I was ready for the real races so he ran the race with me after he ran elite. I'll never forget it.
I look up to my dad (Dustin Livengood). He's been teaching me everything about racing and how to become a better athlete. It would be almost impossible for me to be at the level I am now without him, and I'm still learning.
I kind of do a few sports in school right now, so I'm not sure what sport I would be competing in.
